Private Credit Analyst | Pearse Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Pearse Partners, a global investment platform. The company’s Private Credit team operates with a flexible mandate, actively investing across various structures including unitranche, second lien, mezzanine, HoldCo financings, and preferred equity. The team functions as generalists across diverse industries and transaction types. This position is vital for identifying and executing opportunities that target structuring-driven, risk-adjusted returns within middle-market situations. The Analyst will gain full lifecycle exposure, from initial underwriting and execution through to ongoing portfolio management, while working closely with senior investors in a lean and focused team environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Opportunity Evaluation: Systematically evaluate and thoroughly underwrite private credit opportunities, spanning a flexible mandate across various structures like unitranche, second lien, mezzanine, HoldCo financings, and preferred equity, within middle-market situations.
• Due Diligence Leadership: Lead comprehensive and rigorous due diligence processes, engaging directly with sponsors, management teams, and external advisors to gather critical information.
• Financial Modeling: Construct sophisticated financial models to accurately assess key value drivers, analyze potential downside cases, and evaluate the robustness of capital structures.
• Investment Recommendations: Prepare detailed and persuasive Investment Committee (IC) materials, articulating well-reasoned investment recommendations for review by senior investors.
• Market Insight: Conduct fundamental research to develop differentiated and informed views on industries, companies, and market trends, contributing to the team’s investment thesis.
• Lifecycle Support: Actively support the full lifecycle of investments, from transaction execution through to proactive portfolio monitoring and management.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A strong foundational understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and the principles of private credit, relevant to a global investment platform operating across diverse mandates.
• Experience: Proven experience in key investment functions, including the evaluation and underwriting of credit opportunities, leading diligence efforts, and contributing to the execution and ongoing management of a portfolio.
• Skills: Exceptional proficiency in financial modeling and valuation, strong analytical capabilities for assessing value drivers and downside scenarios, adeptness in conducting fundamental research, and clear communication skills for preparing investment recommendations.
