As a Finance Analyst, you will be an embedded, dedicated finance resource supporting a specific business line. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support core finance operations within a dedicated business line, including timely and accurate invoicing, project setup, and other core finance functions.
• Process: Complete essential accounting transactions in preparation for client financial statement packages.
• Record: Create and post journal entries, ensuring all expenses, receipts, owner’s distributions, and funding requests are accurately recorded for each accounting period.
• Report: Generate financial packages and reports using aggregate data from multiple sources, verifying their accuracy and comprehensive nature for management and clients.
• Resolve: Respond to and resolve issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting matters and reports.
• Research: Research open accounting issues to recognize potential problems and conflicts, taking corrective action to intercept and minimize their impact.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, though a combination of equivalent experience and education will also be thoughtfully considered. This role requires an individual with foundational knowledge of standard accounting principles, an understanding of how to analyze general business conditions, and the ability to work with basic scenario planning models. Intermediate math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and other financial figures, are essential for success.
• Experience: The ideal candidate will bring up to three years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating an ability to analyze complex information and apply established standard practices to make sound judgments. Prior experience in a role requiring detailed financial analysis or accounting support is highly valued.
• Skills: In-depth proficiency with Microsoft Office products is mandatory, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting and daily operations. Strong organizational skills coupled with an inquisitive mindset are crucial for problem-solving and process improvement. Furthermore, the ability to work within standardized procedures and practices to meet objectives and deadlines is expected.
• Bonus: Experience working with Microsoft D365 is strongly preferred, as it will facilitate faster integration into the role’s technological landscape and operational workflows.
