The Tone:
This is a full-time Analyst role at Macquarie Group, working within the U.S. Software and Services team, which has offices located in New York and Chicago. What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Advisory: Actively assist the U.S. Software and Services team’s clients in meeting their complex financial and strategic needs, contributing to their success and growth.
• Transaction Execution: Participate comprehensively in the full execution of diverse advisory, capital raising, and principal transactions, building on the team’s track record of over 190 transactions since 2018.
• Business Development: Support the proactive pursuit of new business opportunities across the Software and Services sector, contributing to the team’s expanding client base and deal flow.
• Portfolio Management: Engage in the diligent servicing of existing portfolio investments, including managing and monitoring both debt and equity positions to maximize value.
• Financial Analysis: Apply a strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and general finance concepts to conduct thorough analyses and support strategic recommendations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required, specifically in finance, economics, or mathematics, to establish a foundational understanding for financial roles.
• Experience: Candidates should possess 1 to 3 years of prior experience working within investment banking, indicating practical exposure to the industry’s demands.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, proven capability in financial modelling, and a solid understanding of financial statements, accounting, and finance are essential for success in this role.
• Bonus: Preferred experience includes a specific focus in Software, Business Services, or Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) M&A during previous investment banking roles.
