Associate, Investment Banking – Power & Utilities | TD Securities

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at TD Securities, located in New York, New York. TD Securities is a 6,500-person organization with professionals operating across 40 cities globally, providing a wide range of capital markets products and services to corporate, government, and institutional clients. This Associate position is crucial for the Power and Utilities investment banking practice, directly supporting senior team members by structuring, marketing, and executing financial activities. The role contributes to the firm’s ability to offer innovative advice and access to global markets for its clients.

• Mission: Provide structure, marketing, and execution activities supporting senior members of the Power and Utilities investment banking team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Client Support: Provide structure, transactional, and marketing support at a professional and subject matter expert level to senior team members.
• Financial Analysis: Research and analyze clients’ financial situations, industry and market data, and evaluate mergers and acquisition opportunities.
• Valuation & Modeling: Perform complex financial and M&A modeling, including valuing private and public companies.
• Presentation Preparation: Prepare external client proposals, internal underwriting memos, and comprehensive client presentations.
• Team Oversight: Work closely with and oversee junior colleagues to ensure accuracy and contribute to their development.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics, with core domain knowledge in investment banking.
• Experience: 3+ years of prior investment banking experience required, along with Series 7, 79, and 63 licenses.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling, solid analytical and quantitative abilities, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively under pressure.
