Senior Associate, Portfolio Management (North America) | Novastone Capital Advisors
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Novastone Capital Advisors, based in North America (United States & Canada). Novastone Capital Advisors runs a global Operator-Led Search Fund program, assisting professionals in acquiring, growing, and exiting small to medium-sized enterprises. Novastone Partners institutionalizes the search fund asset class by managing Fund of Search Funds for limited partners. This role is crucial for the success of both entities, as it focuses on maximizing value through active involvement in strategic decisions and performance monitoring of portfolio companies throughout their investment lifecycle.

• Mission: Maximize value by actively participating in the strategic decision-making processes of Novastone Capital Advisors’ portfolio companies and closely monitoring their performance throughout the investment lifecycle.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Growth: Drive the creation and execution of strategic growth and value creation plans for portfolio companies.
• Executive Partnership: Act as a strategic partner for CEOs to build and implement value creation plans and potential exit strategies.
• Investment Oversight: Monitor the financial metrics and operational performance of portfolio companies to ensure goal achievement and expected investor returns.
• Governance & Compliance: Introduce and ensure applicable governance standards and compliance procedures across the portfolio companies’ boards.
• Capital & Board Leadership: Lead capital-raising efforts, cultivate investor relationships, and serve on the Board of Directors for selected portfolio companies.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in a senior management position or as an operator of a company.
• Skills: Strong financial acumen for tracking and analyzing performance metrics; excellent communication and stakeholder management; critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: Experience in portfolio management or M&A processes of mid-cap companies, an MBA or other advanced degree, or previous non-executive board member background.
