Associate, Technology Research – Semiconductors | Cantor Fitzgerald

• Team: Semiconductor Equity Research team, working closely with senior analysts.
• Mission: Contribute directly to investment recommendations and proprietary research, providing integral support for company coverage, financial modeling, industry analysis, and client engagement.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Modeling & Analysis: Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models for Semiconductor and Semiconductor Equipment companies, performing valuation and financial analysis to support stock recommendations and investment theses.
• Fundamental Research: Conduct comprehensive fundamental research on industry trends, technology developments, and competitive dynamics, synthesizing information to generate actionable insights for institutional investors.
• Research Reporting: Prepare earnings previews, earnings analyses, thematic research reports, and industry updates for dissemination to clients.
• Market Monitoring & Expertise: Monitor earnings releases, industry data points, supply chain developments, and regulatory trends impacting the Semiconductor sector to develop expertise across key end markets.
• Client & Management Engagement: Participate in meetings with company management teams, industry experts, and institutional investors, increasingly contributing to research view communication.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting, or a related discipline, with a strong understanding of the Semiconductor ecosystem.
• Experience: 2–4 years of semiconductor-focused equity research experience, preferably on the sell-side.
• Skills: Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, and valuation skills; proven ability to analyze complex business models and synthesize information into clear investment conclusions; excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; strong attention to detail and a proactive, self-starting mindset.
• Bonus: MBA and/or CFA designation (or progress toward CFA) is preferred, and experience interacting with institutional investors and management teams is a plus.
