The Tone:
This is a seasonal internship at Standard Chartered, located in the United States. This role is crucial in supporting the bank’s Strategic Advisory & Solutions team, which delivers strategic advice on complex financial decisions to global corporate and financial institution clients, playing a central role in trade, capital flows, and economic growth across over 50 markets.

• Team: Strategic Advisory & Solutions (SAS) team within Corporate & Investment Banking
• Mission: Deliver strategic advice on complex capital structure, financing, and sustainability decisions to corporate and financial institution clients across multiple sectors and regions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Advise: Partner with corporate and financial institution clients to deliver strategic advice on complex capital structure, financing, and sustainability decisions.
• Collaborate: Work closely with coverage, product, and sector teams across a global network to originate opportunities, unlock balance sheet capacity, and drive revenue growth for the Bank.
• Develop: Participate in a 10-week summer internship program, working on real business challenges and building future-ready skills.
• Immerse: Gain insight into how Standard Chartered supports clients, facilitates trade, and finances growth, with exposure to products, clients, and the international network.
• Learn: Engage in a structured induction and orientation, receive support from managers, mentors, and buddies, and access opportunities to learn from senior leaders and industry experts in areas such as Capital Structure & Rating Advisory, Transition Finance & Advisory, and Islamic Banking.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Penultimate year student from any degree discipline or background.
• Experience: Ability to intern in June 2027 and start full time in July 2028, with the permanent legal right to work in the country of application.
• Skills: Ability to take ownership, show initiative, think critically, solve problems using logic and sound judgment, learn quickly, stay curious, build strong relationships, collaborate effectively, adapt, perform under pressure, and understand how businesses, markets, and economies connect and grow.
