• Team: StepStone’s Private Equity (PE) team diligences and invests across the private equity landscape, directly in companies, LP/GP-led secondary transactions, and primary investment capabilities.
• Mission: Gain hands-on experience across the private equity industry by analyzing leveraged buyouts, growth equity, and distressed private equity funds and investments.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel

What You’ll Actually Do
• Diligence: Work collaboratively to conduct due diligence, financial modeling, and prepare investment memorandums across private equity fund investments, co-investments, and secondaries transactions.
• Analysis: Analyze and conduct diligence on co-investment opportunities and secondary transactions, interacting with fund managers and portfolio company management teams for in-depth underwriting.
• Research: Perform quantitative and qualitative research and financial modeling/analysis on companies and assets across various stages, industries, and geographies.
• Evaluation: Conduct due diligence on potential fund investments, evaluating team, strategy, and performance, then synthesize findings into an investment memorandum for the Firm’s Investment Committee.
• Communication: Construct and effectively communicate an argument around an opinion to the Firm’s Investment Committee and senior executives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate student graduating between December 2027 and June 2028, with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Experience: Demonstrable analytical capabilities, including strong quantitative and financial modeling skills.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and a collaborative, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.
