Analyst/Associate, Private Credit | Macquarie Group

This position is within Macquarie Capital Principal Finance, which functions as Macquarie Capital’s balance sheet investing arm. What You’ll Actually Do
• Due Diligence: Lead conversations and efforts for diligence with internal teams, counterparties, and external experts.
• Presentations: Present findings and recommendations in meetings, including investment committee discussions.
• Data Analysis: Gather data from differentiated sources to support investment theses with an evidence-based approach.
• Financial Analysis: Prepare critical analysis, including robust financial models, quality of earnings assessments, and KPI analysis.
• Reporting: Distill complex information into succinct investment committee memos and external presentations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is suited for a financial professional with 1 to 4 years of experience gained in full-service M&A, capital markets, and/or investing environments. It’s a career-track opportunity, with historical examples of team members evolving into deal originators and leaders within the group after a few years of experience.
• Experience: Candidates must demonstrate extensive exposure to core business analysis, comprehensive research methodologies, and robust financial modeling techniques. Experience with varied private credit structures like unitranche financings, second lien debt, HoldCo PIK loans, mezzanine debt, or preferred equity is beneficial due to the team’s generalist investment approach across industries and deal types.
• Skills: Possess a strong analytical and technical aptitude, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex modeling and PowerPoint for clear presentation creation. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential for leading diligence, presenting findings, and distilling information.
• Bonus: A proactive self-starter with the demonstrated ability to work effectively and contribute within a team environment. This includes taking initiative and expanding one’s role and responsibility.
