Cost Accounting Analyst | PepsiCo

• Mission: This role ensures accurate financial reporting and supports operational and strategic initiatives by managing core accounting processes within cost accounting and supply chain functions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Close: Lead periodic, quarterly, and annual close activities for assigned accounting areas, including managing derivatives accounting and intercompany COGS eliminations.
• Reporting & Reconciliation: Prepare and review quarterly commodity and inflation reporting for submission, while also maintaining and reconciling prepaid and accrued operating accounts.
• Operational Support: Oversee scrap accounting processes, collaborate with supply chain finance to adjust accruals, and partner with warehouse and transportation teams for journal entries.
• Compliance: Maintain SOX documentation, perform required testing, and support business integration and PGT initiatives, including transitions to S4.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement new reporting and analytical processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across financial operations.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
• Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience, with a CPA license required, and a proven track record in period end close processes and account reconciliations.
• Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/S4 experience preferred), advanced Excel skills, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: Public accounting experience with a Big 4 firm, experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or CPG environments, familiarity with derivatives accounting and intercompany eliminations, and prior involvement in SOX compliance or system implementation projects.
