Financial Analyst | Databricks
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Databricks. Databricks is a data and AI company, providing a Data Intelligence Platform relied upon by over 10,000 organizations globally, including more than 50% of the Fortune 500, to unify and democratize data, analytics, and AI. This Financial Analyst position joins the Sales Finance team within the FP&A organization, reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to Sales and Finance leadership, delivering insights and recommendations for driving sustainable growth. You will also improve forecast reliability, enhance corporate reporting, establish new processes, and scale financial systems to support the company’s expansion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze Performance: Evaluate company performance against core KPIs to identify potential risks and opportunities for the business.
• Build Models: Construct detailed empirical financial models independently from scratch to support various financial recommendations.
• Report Usage: Analyze daily usage trends across platforms, products, and business units, then communicate these insights for an executive-level audience.
• Forecast Bookings: Track the bookings pipeline and accurately forecast its impact on the company’s top-line financial performance.
• Drive Insights: Develop a deep understanding of Databricks’ business model to drive forecasts and business insights, partnering with sales strategy and operations to provide recommendations to finance leadership.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a comparable field.
• Experience: 2+ years of corporate finance, management consulting, or investment banking experience is required, with essential familiarity in the software and SaaS industry. Demonstrated experience includes independently building financial models, preparing recommendations, and conducting financial due diligence for acquisitions, investments, or strategic partnerships.
• Skills: Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); expert proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for complex spreadsheets, large datasets, and driver-based models; excellent analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills; proven ability to prioritize objectives in a fast-paced environment to ensure timely deliverables; curiosity to learn and solve problems independently; experience in simplifying and scaling processes while supporting a high-growth business.
• Bonus: Prior experience using SQL or a willingness to learn is a plus.
