Equity Research Associate/Vice President – Consumer & Retail | Guggenheim Securities

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Guggenheim Securities, located in New York, NY. Guggenheim Securities is the investment banking and capital markets business of Guggenheim Partners, a a global investment and advisory firm. This role is crucial for supporting Senior Research Analyst(s) by tracking and analyzing public and private consumer and retail companies. The successful hire will contribute significantly to the firm’s research offerings, conveying investment messages through written reports and engaging with clients.

• Mission: This role supports senior analysts by tracking and analyzing consumer & retail companies, synthesizing market data, and communicating investment insights to inform client decisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
Market Analysis: Analyze individual retail and consumer companies and market trends to identify key developments and opportunities.
Primary Research: Conduct in-depth primary research, including financial analysis and due diligence on industry trends, company management, and strategies.
Report Drafting: Draft reports and notes on relevant investment themes, market events, and breaking news, summarizing findings for internal and external audiences.
Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial and valuation models to support analysis and generate estimates of business results.
Client Interaction: Organize calls and events for investors, and respond to inquiries from clients and the institutional sales force regarding research findings and directives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: BA/BS Degree, with an understanding of capital markets and stock markets, and fluency in modeling financial statements.
• Experience: 3-7 years of experience in a relevant field, proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills for conveying investment messages, outstanding analytical skills to conduct deep primary research, and strong interpersonal relationship skills. Must obtain FINRA Series 86, 87, 63, and Securities Industry Essentials exam within 6 months of hire.
• Bonus: Comfortable with large data sets and reporting, a self-starter with a proven commitment to high-quality work, team-oriented with unquestionable honesty and integrity, and intellectual curiosity.
