Associate, Corporate Finance & FP&A | Finatal

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a private equity-backed fiber infrastructure platform, with a preference for candidates located near New York City, Chicago, or Indiana. The company is experiencing significant growth through organic expansion and an active acquisition strategy. This position is critical for building a best-in-class corporate finance function to support the next phase of growth. The Associate will play a hands-on role in supporting mergers & acquisitions, transaction execution, financial modeling, and strategic finance initiatives.

• Mission: Evaluate acquisition opportunities, support financial due diligence, assist with debt financing, and develop required analyses and reporting for stakeholders.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Build comprehensive financial models for acquisitions, valuations, pro forma scenarios, and integrations.
• Execute buy-side M&A transactions from initial evaluation through diligence to closing.
• Prepare investment memoranda and financial analyses to support acquisition, development, and strategic growth opportunities.
• Support debt refinancing initiatives, capital structure analysis, covenant modeling, and lender reporting.
• Develop consolidated financial models, annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range planning models.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Infrastructure Investing, Private Equity, Corporate Development, or other transaction-focused Corporate Finance roles. Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions, financial due diligence, and transaction execution is required.
• Skills: Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills are essential. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting analyses to senior leadership, are also required.
• Bonus: Exposure to private equity-backed businesses is preferred. Experience within infrastructure, telecom, fiber, broadband, utilities, or other asset-intensive industries is a plus.
