The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Amazon, located in Nashville, TN or Bellevue, WA. What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Decisions: Build complex financial models and perform sophisticated analyses to drive investment decisions for new business initiatives in the SSD network.
• Capital Planning: Lead capital planning and optimization efforts for the growing SSD network, including building launch strategies, capex forecasting, allocation, and ROI analysis.
• Business Partnerships: Partner with business teams to define financial and non-financial trade-offs, making thoughtful judgment calls in ambiguous environments.
• Process Improvement: Develop and implement scalable financial solutions to improve tools, technology, and processes.
• Strategic Communication: Create clear and compelling narratives to communicate complex financial concepts to stakeholders and define strategy for key business initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field. This is a Manager-level position.
• Experience: 5+ years of finance experience, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of finance experience. Proven experience identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan. Demonstrated ability to solve complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact.
• Skills: Financial modeling, sophisticated analysis, capital planning, capex forecasting, ROI analysis, data integrity, strong verbal and written communication.
• Bonus: MBA or CPA, knowledge of SQL/ETL, experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos), experience with financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards), and experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
