Investment Research Analyst | Strategas Securities

The Tone:
This position is with Strategas Securities, where you will build foundational investment expertise while supporting the evaluation and monitoring of investment managers and strategies. This role offers an opportunity to partner closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers, contributing to the research of markets, analysis of data, and development of insights that directly inform client portfolios. What You’ll Actually Do
• Investment Research: Conduct in-depth research on investment managers, various funds, and prevailing market trends to support due diligence efforts and identify emerging investment themes.
• Data Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data essential for thorough investment evaluation and informed decision-making.
• Reporting & Presentations: Assist in preparing detailed research reports, concise investment summaries, and compelling presentation materials for internal stakeholders and advisors.
• Database Management: Update and meticulously maintain research databases, performance metrics, and tracking tools, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of all data.
• Portfolio Monitoring: Support senior team members in closely monitoring existing portfolio holdings and the ongoing performance of investment managers.
• Due Diligence Coordination: Assist in coordinating various due diligence activities, including scheduling calls and meetings, and managing necessary documentation.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities and implement improvements in existing research processes and workflows.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, suited for an early-career professional.
• Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or full-time) in investment research, finance, or a related field, alongside a demonstrated interest in financial markets and investment strategies.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail; the ability to collect, organize, and interpret financial data; proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; effective written and verbal communication skills; strong organizational skills with a commitment to data accuracy; and a collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn and take direction.
• Bonus: Progress toward or interest in pursuing a CFA or other relevant designation is preferred; familiarity with financial tools/databases, data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau), or basic modeling concepts is a plus.
