Pearl Innovation District Intern | Atrium Health

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at Atrium Health, located in Charlotte, NC, specifically within The Pearl Innovation District. The Pearl is Charlotte’s innovation district, uniting healthcare, education, research, and technology, and this intern role is crucial for supporting the day-to-day operational needs that enable this active environment to function effectively. What You’ll Actually Do
• Operational Oversight: Support and gain exposure to the day-to-day operational needs that are critical for The Pearl’s function as an active innovation district and learning environment, including logistics and space coordination.
• Event and Program Support: Assist with the smooth execution of district programs, visits, and events by managing materials, scheduling, and follow-up tasks.
• Administrative Duties: Provide essential administrative coverage for the office, which includes answering phones, maintaining computer data, typing various documents, and creating spreadsheets and presentations.
• Project Contribution: Aid in research projects, data analysis, and the creation of comprehensive reports, along with assisting with data entry and filing.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate partner support, real estate, and marketing initiatives, observing the behind-the-scenes systems and people that drive the district’s activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a student in a High School, Undergraduate, Master’s, or Postgraduate program.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage logistics, materials, scheduling, and follow-up tasks with meticulous attention to detail in a fast-moving environment.
• Skills: Strong organizational and project management abilities, clear written and oral communication, a proactive problem-solving mindset, and proficiency in computer skills.
• Bonus: Experience with spreadsheets, shared drives, calendars, or project management tools; an interest in healthcare operations, innovation districts, or education programming; or prior experience preparing spaces for meetings, tours, programs, or events.
