This Collateral Review Specialist position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and quality of DHI Mortgage’s loan portfolio by meticulously assessing property appraisals and mitigating associated risks. What You’ll Actually Do
• Appraisal Review: Receive and review low appraisal and VA Tidewater notifications from the Central Appraisal Department for reconsideration of value.
• Risk Assessment: Review Collateral Underwriter appraisal scores of 4.0 and higher to determine their acceptability.
• Stakeholder Communication: Handle incoming calls from Branch Managers, Loan Processors, and Mortgage Loan Originators, addressing issues and questions related to appraisals.
• Relationship Management: Maintain frequent contact with Loan Processors, Mortgage Loan Originators, and Branch Managers to facilitate smooth operations.
• Department Support: Provide support for the Central Appraisal Department as needed, contributing to overall team efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum of two years of work experience OR a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university.
• Experience: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and email correspondence.
• Skills: Analytical review of appraisal documents, communication with various mortgage stakeholders, and data processing.
• Bonus: Strong written and oral communication skills; excellent organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines; ability to accurately and efficiently process and record a large volume of data.
