Social Media Investigator | DigiStream Investigations

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at DigiStream Investigations, located in Oakland, CA. DigiStream is a fast-growing, premiere provider of investigative services across the U.S. and Ontario, Canada. As a Research Analyst, you will leverage your social media acumen and investigative curiosity to collect critical digital evidence for fraud investigations. Your work is essential to delivering high-quality results and ensuring the success of each case, helping to prevent fraud and support legal proceedings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analyze: Find and collect digital evidence in support of fraud investigations.
• Collaborate: Use gathered intel to collaborate with Evidence, Field Operations, and the Investigative Advisor for high-quality results.
• Archive: Compile digital evidence and social media data, achieving it for court use.
• Report: Write comprehensive investigative reports and compose tactical logs for surveillance efforts.
• Assess: Formulate Red Flag Analysis for clients as cases progress and provide testimony in fraud cases as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, Political Science, or other writing-intensive major.
• Experience: Ability to navigate and use social networking websites, search engines, social networking aggregators, and various investigative platforms to find specific information.
• Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret large amounts of information from various online resources; strong communication and research skills; focus and time management skills for multi-tasking and adhering to strict deadlines; accountability for working under minimal supervision; typing speed of at least 40 WPM with accuracy; understanding of HIPAA and dedication to maintaining confidentiality of information; willingness to learn and adapt to changes in the digital world.
