Epic Clinical Analyst I | VHC Health

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at VHC Health, located in Alexandria, VA. • Mission: Develops and supports comprehensive clinical information systems by translating business needs into EMR functionality and ensuring ongoing system efficacy.
• Tech Stack: Epic EMR software, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook

What You’ll Actually Do
Develop Solutions: Investigate existing processes to understand data and communication flows, then develop Epic application solutions for comprehensive clinical information systems.
Support Systems: Provide ongoing support, including 24/7 problem management and resolution, for Epic clinical system software, ensuring continued functionality for end-users.
Configure & Train: Participate in developing workflows, configuring systems, documenting changes, and training staff on Epic clinical application functionality.
Analyze & Report: Analyze procedures and problems within manual and automated healthcare systems, reporting findings, recommending resolutions, and assisting in programming specifications.
Build & Test: Build system components, data sets, master files, and reports, performing quality assurance and integrated testing before releasing new functionality to end-users.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree is required, or four years of equivalent experience. Preferred degrees include Health Care Administration, Clinical Information Systems, Informatics, Information Technology, Sciences, or clinical degrees such as RN, RRT, RPH, ARNP, PA.
• Experience: One plus years of healthcare industry experience, preferably in a hospital or major medical center clinical setting. Additionally, one plus years of EHR experience, either as an analyst or end-user, with hands-on clinical systems experience (Epic preferred).
• Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills, including active listening; strong attention to detail and organizational skills to complete tasks on time; proficiency with desktop computers and office applications like Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; strong interpersonal skills and adherence to customer service principles.
• Bonus: Demonstrated ability to work with and facilitate multidisciplinary clinician groups; experience educating staff on the use of systems in a healthcare environment; experience in project planning and procedural analysis; basic knowledge of and ability to work with SDLC concepts.
