Social Media Marketing Intern | MARU MORI

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship at MARU MORI, located remotely (New York-based a plus). MARU MORI is a luxury underwear company that crafts one product exceptionally well, selling directly to a small and growing audience. The brand is discovered rather than advertised, and this role is crucial for identifying and building authentic relationships with creators and tastemakers who resonate with this unique approach.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cultivate Relationships: Research and identify relevant creators, writers, and editors, building and maintaining two distinct contact lists for gifting and paid placements.
• Initiate Outreach: Draft and send direct communications to identified individuals in the brand’s voice, managing all subsequent conversations from first message through follow-up.
• Manage Partnerships: Coordinate product gifting to selected individuals, tracking their usage, and oversee paid content creation from negotiation to publication, tracking deliverables, timelines, and results.
• Organize Data: Maintain a clean, shared system for tracking all contacts, responses, follow-ups, rates, and timelines, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
• Identify Opportunities: Continuously monitor the social media landscape to surface emerging trends, accounts, and potential partnership opportunities for the brand.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role is for an intern. Core domain knowledge includes internet culture, fashion, menswear, lifestyle, and culture.
• Experience: No specific prior work experience is stated as required, but a strong familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, and the fashion and lifestyle creator landscape is essential.
• Skills: Strong, natural writing with an instinct for tone; highly aware of the social media landscape with real taste; extremely organized; comfortable working independently and reporting clearly.
• Bonus: Prior experience with influencer outreach, PR, talent, or community management; familiarity with spreadsheets or a CRM, basic analytics, and outreach tools; an existing sense of the creator economy and how paid and gifted partnerships actually work.
