Charleston Battery

Founded in 1993, Charleston Battery is a professional soccer club based in Charleston, South Carolina, competing in the United Soccer League. It stands as one of the nation’s oldest continuously operating professional clubs, alongside the Richmond Kickers, and notably became the first non-Major League Soccer professional club in the U.S. to build its own stadium, MUSC Health Stadium, in 1999. As one of the most successful lower-division teams nationally, Charleston Battery has secured multiple championships, including the USISL Pro League (1996), USL A-League (2003), USL Second Division (2010), and the USL Pro Championship (2012).
