What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing financial reports and analysis for management and external agencies, including charts and diagrams showing prior, current, and projected financial results.
• System Utilization: Utilize various financial information systems and data visualization tools, developing strong knowledge to support financial analysis and improve operational efficiency.
• Departmental Collaboration: Develop relationships with department managers to assist in financial report analysis, resolve budget variances, and provide technical support on budgeting systems and procedures.
• Budget Oversight: Monitor budget expenditures, prepare trend reports, compile budgetary and fiscal data, and assist in developing and presenting fiscal data at budget hearings.
• Compliance & Records: Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies, as well as GAAP, GASB, and FASB standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Experience: No previous professional experience required.
• Skills: Research, retrieve, and organize data to prepare reports and financial documentation; analyze and audit data.
