Pharmacy Student Intern | Albertsons Companies
The Tone:
This is an in-person internship within the Safeway division of Albertsons Companies. Albertsons Companies is a leading food and drug retailer operating over 2,270 retail and drug stores and 1,720 pharmacies across 34 states and D.C., employing over 290,000 individuals. This role offers student interns the opportunity to gain valuable pharmacy practice skills, build meaningful relationships with patients, and make a direct impact on community health in a progressive pharmacy setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Counseling: Concentrate on patient counseling, over-the-counter medications, medication therapy management (MTM), point-of-care testing, and disease state management.
• Prescription Fulfillment: Take all steps required to fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures under pharmacist supervision.
• Clinical Services: Actively participate in clinical services, including administering immunizations and vaccinations.
• Customer & Professional Consultation: Offer advice and consultation to customers and health care professionals regarding prescription knowledge, drug therapy, and health-related products and concerns.
• Business Initiatives: Implement company initiatives to increase pharmacy profitability.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school of pharmacy, pursuing a professional pharmacy degree.
• Experience: Must hold a valid state intern license if required by the state of employment.
• Skills: Ability to readily and positively adapt to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities; Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.
