Nurse Intern – Nursing Internship | Health Marketing

The Tone:
This is a per diem nursing internship role at Health Marketing, designed for aspiring Registered Nurses. In this position, you will provide essential direct patient care activities, operating under the expert supervision of a Registered Nurse and strictly adhering to all department policies and hospital protocols. What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Patient Care: Provide direct patient care activities, assisting the Registered Nurse team in daily tasks and ensuring patient comfort and well-being in accordance with established policies.
• Monitor and Report: Proactively recognize and promptly report any life-threatening situations or significant changes in patient status to the supervising RN, prioritizing immediate intervention and safety.
• Document and Track: Accurately monitor and meticulously document patient symptoms, vital signs, and all relevant observations, maintaining comprehensive and precise medical records.
• Maintain Safety and Hygiene: Adhere rigorously to aseptic techniques, safety protocols, and all hospital policies concerning hygiene and infection control during patient interactions and procedures.
• Participate and Comply: Assist with laboratory specimen collection, participate in educational programs, and strictly follow all hospital guidelines regarding patient confidentiality and ethical conduct.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student. Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program and have successfully completed their first foundational clinical rotation to qualify for this internship.
• Experience: Proficient in a range of basic nursing skills, enabling effective support in patient care scenarios.
• Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in aseptic techniques, accurate monitoring and documentation of patient vital signs and symptoms, precise record-keeping, and the ability to assist with laboratory specimen collection. Candidates must also obtain AHA BLS certification within two weeks of employment.
• Bonus: Six months of prior patient care experience in a clinical setting is preferred, demonstrating an early commitment and practical understanding of healthcare environments.
