Intern – IT/RPA Automation | BJC HealthCare

The Tone:
This is a part-time internship during the school year and full-time during the summer at BJC HealthCare, located in the St. Louis metropolitan area. BJC is one_ of the largest nonprofit healthcare organizations in the United States, with over 30,000 employees, delivering critical services across the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois, and southeast Missouri regions. The company’s Information Services (IS) department, comprising over 650 individuals, is essential for system development, implementation, and strategic IT planning across BJC’s extensive network of hospitals and health service organizations. This internship is part of the BJC Career Development Intern Program (CDIP), designed to support the organization’s talent pipeline by offering students hands-on experience, professional development training, extensive networking opportunities with senior leaders, and a dedicated support network. It specifically targets students looking to build a career in IT, focusing on RPA Automation within a leading healthcare system.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Navigation: Navigate project requests effectively using critical thinking skills to understand requirements and objectives.
• Communication: Communicate clearly and efficiently with team members, staff, and project leaders to ensure smooth collaboration.
• Initiative: Proactively identify and pursue additional tasks or logical next steps that enhance ongoing project efforts, even when not explicitly assigned.
• Team Collaboration: Contribute positively and excel within a collaborative, team-based work environment.
• Problem Solving: Apply creativity and innovation to solve technical and operational problems encountered during automation projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program, ideally having completed at least the freshman year. This role is specifically seeking candidates targeting a 2027 or 2028 graduation date.
• Experience: No prior professional work experience is explicitly required, with the role open to students who have completed their freshmen year.
• Skills: Demonstrated abilities in critical thinking, effective communication, proactive initiative, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.
• Bonus: Candidates should be looking for a career in IT working with RPA Automation and must be able to reside in the St. Louis area for the duration of the internship.
