Intern FT | Houston Eye Associates

The Tone:
This is a full-time internship at Houston Eye Associates, located in Houston, TX. This position supports the Houston Eye Associates Foundation (HEAF) in its mission to expand access to vision care for underserved individuals. The role provides valuable hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, healthcare access programs, and client service delivery. What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Administration: Assist with the administration of the Foundation’s healthcare access programs.
• Patient Services: Support patient inquiries and the processing of applications for vision care.
• Data Management: Perform data entry and maintain accurate records for program tracking.
• Document Management: Organize and manage program-related documents, ensuring confidentiality.
• Community Engagement: Aid in the execution of community outreach events and contribute to research projects that align with the Foundation’s goals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student or emerging professional with a high school diploma or equivalent required; interest in nonprofit organizations, healthcare administration, public health, social services, or community outreach.
• Experience: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications.
• Skills: Strong communication and customer service abilities; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion; capacity to work independently while contributing to a small team.
• Bonus: Current college students or recent graduates preferred.
