Academic Data Analyst | Boise State University
The Tone:
This is a temporary, hybrid role at Boise State University, located in Boise, ID, with an expected duration through July 2027. The university’s Microelectronics Education and Research Center (MERC) serves as a hub for innovation and workforce development in Idaho. This position is crucial for developing and maintaining a comprehensive data reporting system that assesses disparities, enrollment, retention, and course progress for the Pacific-Intermountain Network for Education in Semiconductors (PINES) award and broader National Network for Microelectronics Education (NNME) goals. The role ensures data-driven insights support strategic decision-making and program enhancements across vital semiconductor education initiatives.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Reporting: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide data reporting for the PINES award, NNME, and related programs.
• Insight Generation: Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to support decision-making processes for program enhancements and resource allocation.
• System Management: Coordinate and manage systems to develop regular reporting packages at intervals throughout the academic year.
• Best Practice Identification: Utilize data insights to work with key stakeholders to identify best practices that can translate from one program to another.
• Program Monitoring: Monitor program progress, identify potential issues, and develop appropriate solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree. Fully competent and productive professional contributor applying acquired job skills, policies, and procedures.
• Experience: 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience, with proven experience in data analysis and coordinating collaborations across multiple institutions.
• Skills: Strong quantitative/data analysis skills, ability to translate student data insights into compelling stories, excellent written and verbal communication, ability to work independently, high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bonus: A master’s degree in a relevant field, experience analyzing student data in a higher education context, proficiency in JMP Statistical Analysis and Machine Learning Software and SPSS Statistical Package for the Social Science.
