Jr. Quality Assurance Engineer | Securiport
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Securiport, located in Reston, Virginia. Securiport LLC is a US company specializing in designing and implementing passenger biometric recognition, immigration processing, and intelligent information reporting and management systems. The company provides complete immigration processing solutions and analytics to maintain border security. What You’ll Actually Do
• Lifecycle Support: Support quality assurance activities across the full software development lifecycle.
• Manual Testing: Perform manual testing of thick-client desktop applications, web applications, and web services/APIs.
• Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using test management and defect tracking tools.
• Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile software development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
• Documentation: Assist with creating and maintaining clear end-user and administrator documentation.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related technical field. This is an entry-level role. Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder and a local candidate.
• Experience: 0-3 years in software quality assurance, software testing, software development, technical support, systems analysis, or application support. Requires academic, internship, project-based, or early professional exposure to the software development lifecycle.
• Skills: Basic understanding of software quality assurance methodologies, familiarity with web/desktop applications and APIs, basic understanding of Agile development environments, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Bonus: QA-related coursework, certifications, or projects; exposure to automated testing tools like Playwright, Selenium, or Ranorex; experience with ALM tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira; basic programming/scripting in Java, C#, JavaScript, or Python; familiarity with API testing tools (Postman) or databases (SQL); or exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
