The Tone:
This is a role at Star Construction, LLC, a company dedicated to safe and efficient construction operations. As a Flagger, you are integral to ensuring the safety of both the public and construction personnel within active worksite environments. Your work involves directly assisting with traffic control and flagging duties in public areas, playing a critical part in preventing accidents and maintaining orderly traffic flow. This position is vital for the successful and safe execution of construction projects, providing peace of mind through a safety-first culture.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person, various active worksites

• Team: Operates under the direct supervision of a Foreman or Supervisor
• Mission: To ensure the safe movement of traffic around active construction sites and assist with general site operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Traffic Control & Safety: Directly control vehicle and pedestrian traffic within and around active worksites using standard hand signs and paddles, prioritizing the safety of the public and construction crew.
• Site Setup & Preparation: Methodically prepare and deploy essential safety equipment such as flags, cones, signs, and markers to clearly delineate work zones and guide traffic effectively.
• Construction Support: Provide assistance with general construction tasks as needed, working under the guidance of a Foreman or Supervisor to support overall project objectives.
• Vehicle Operation & Safety: Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly, consistently adhering to all established company safe driving policies and procedures.
• Equipment Management: Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on all company vehicles and equipment, ensuring they remain in good working order and ready for use.
• Regulatory Adherence: Consistently follow all local, state, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines pertaining to traffic control and worksite safety.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires candidates to be 18 years of age or older. Must possess a High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience in a related field.
• Experience: Possess a valid State driver’s license (cannot be Provisional), along with a driving record that meets company standards.
• Skills: Ability to understand and follow all local, state, and federal Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Capacity to perform job duties effectively in all weather conditions.
• Bonus: Prior professional experience in flagging is highly preferred for this role.
