The Tone:
This is an internship at American Civil Constructors West Coast LLC (a MasTec Company), performed primarily in an office environment. The company, through its subsidiary Henkels & McCoy West, designs, builds, manages, and maintains vital infrastructure for the power, oil & gas pipeline, gas distribution, and communications industries across the Western United States. This role provides crucial support to the Safety and Finance departments, offering valuable hands-on learning and exposure to professional business operations.

• Mission: This role supports the Safety and Finance departments, contributing to projects while gaining professional business experience.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Departmental Projects: Assist with special projects and initiatives within the Safety and Finance teams.
• Gather Information: Conduct research and collect data to support business operations and project objectives.
• Process Data: Organize, accurately enter, and analyze data using spreadsheets and other business tools.
• Maintain Records: Update various reports, tracking logs, and department records as assigned.
• Prepare Communications: Assist in the creation of training materials, presentations, and internal communications.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in high school with a strong interest in learning about business operations, finance, or workplace safety.
• Experience: Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, effective verbal communication, and clear written communication.
• Skills: Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative member of a team, demonstrating a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
