Logistics Intern | LST Group, LLC

The Tone:
This is a paid internship at LST Group, LLC, located in Chattanooga, TN, for summer/fall 2026. LST Group is seeking a highly driven individual to support its customer service team in managing and optimizing freight transportation for its clients. This role is crucial for ensuring smooth shipment operations, maintaining load tracking compliance across all movements, and delivering outstanding service and clear communication to LST customers. The intern will play a key part in supporting client freight goals and contributing to the overall efficiency of logistics operations.

The TL;DR

• Type: Seasonal (Summer/Fall 2026), Part-time (30-39.5 hours per week)
• Location: In-person, Chattanooga, TN
• Pay: $15 hourly
• Team: Supports the customer service team
• Mission: To support clients’ freight transportation goals by ensuring load tracking compliance, efficient document collection, and accurate order entry, while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Tech Stack: TMS, internal databases, Microsoft Office Suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Service: Execute exceptional service with customers, addressing their order needs, managing pickup and delivery times, and resolving any issues that arise during transit or with appointment schedules.
• Shipment Monitoring & Compliance: Proactively monitor the status of all shipments, communicate timely updates or potential delays, and ensure strict load tracking compliance on all movements.
• Carrier Partnership: Work closely and collaboratively with carrier partners to ensure adequate capacity for shipments, maintain compliance with company standards, and monitor performance to uphold service quality.
• Logistics Solutions: Analyze specific client needs and propose tailored logistics solutions aimed at enhancing overall operational efficiency and helping to reduce associated costs.
• Data Management: Perform accurate and timely data entry for all orders, including detailed load information, client specifics, and shipment updates, into the Transportation Management System (TMS) and other internal databases as required.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a college junior or senior, or recently completed post-graduate education, working toward a degree in supply chain, logistics, or business management. A strong interest in transportation and logistics is essential.
• Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and strong general computer skills. Reliable transportation to and from the Chattanooga work location is required for this in-person role.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong organizational and time-management abilities, essential for handling multiple tasks and priorities. Proven problem-solving capabilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with customers and carrier partners. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain long-term professional relationships.
