Indirect Procurement Intern Fall 2026 | Rocket Lab
The Tone:
This is an internship at Rocket Lab, located in Long Beach, CA. Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company that develops and launches rockets like Electron and the upcoming Neutron, and designs and manufactures satellites and components for vital missions, including those supporting NASA and the James Webb Space Telescope. This role is crucial for optimizing the company’s supply chain operations, directly contributing to Rocket Lab’s mission of opening access to space through cost-effective and high-quality procurement. The intern will support the Supply Chain Team in market analysis and identifying solutions to ensure efficient operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to support the Supply Chain Team’s initiatives.
• Optimization: Identify and propose actionable solutions aimed at optimizing costs while ensuring service quality is maintained.
• Application: Apply engineering and industry concepts to solve real-world challenges collaboratively with professionals in the department.
• Development: Attend frequent one-on-one sessions with mentors and supervisors to facilitate personal growth, learning, and provide progress updates.
• Engagement: Network with fellow interns and employees through participation in tech talks, social, and professional events.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctorate program in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operation Management, or a relevant engineering field, with at least one semester of school remaining post-internship. Candidates should maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Experience: Possess a minimum of three months of corporate function experience within supply chain operations.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong critical thinking abilities, effective time management skills, and clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Bonus: A GPA of 3.5 or higher is preferred. Candidates with six or more months of corporate function experience in supply chain, experience with data analytics, specific data analysis tools such as PowerBI, or ERP systems like Infor LN are highly valued. Familiarity with Python, Six Sigma methodologies, advanced proficiency with Excel, and previous supply chain purchasing and procurement experience are also beneficial.
