The Tone:
This is an internship at Four Stones Group, LLC, located in Knoxville, TN. Four Stones Group is a real estate investment, development, and advisory firm that owns and operates Kern’s Bakery, a food hall focused on community. This role matters because interns will function as a strategic consulting team, working directly on real-world growth initiatives to develop actionable recommendations for the business. The work will directly impact Kern’s Bakery’s performance and long-term brand positioning.

The TL;DR

• Type: Academic year (August-April), part-time (10-12 hours/week)
• Location: In-person, Knoxville, TN

• Team: Interns function as a strategic consulting team, reporting to Four Stones Group leadership and collaborating with Kern’s Bakery operators and vendors.
• Mission: To develop actionable recommendations that drive profitability, increase foot traffic, and strengthen performance for Kern’s Bakery, specifically focusing on increasing top-line food hall revenue, creating a loyal University of Tennessee student customer base, and building lasting brand equity.
• Tech Stack: AI (for problem solving)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research: Conduct market research on student preferences, spending habits, and dining trends.
• Analysis: Analyze current business performance to identify growth opportunities.
• Strategy: Develop marketing, events, and partnership strategies tailored to college audiences.
• Optimization: Explore pricing, promotions, and vendor mix optimization to enhance business performance.
• Reporting: Submit a Spring strategy plan before Winter Break and a final strategic recommendation to Four Stones Group leadership in April.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Rising Juniors and Seniors at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
• Experience: Must be full-time students during both Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Semesters.
• Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment; well versed in AI and its capabilities to problem solve.
• Bonus: Interest in real estate, hospitality, marketing, or entrepreneurship; self-starters who are comfortable navigating ambiguity and proposing bold ideas.
