Data Specialist | Veolia

The Tone:
This is a full-time, entry-level role at Veolia, located in Groves, TX. • Mission: To accurately enter and manage waste data, identify trends, and support sustainability improvements for customer operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
Data Management: Meticulously review data and invoices from third-party suppliers, transferring waste-related information into designated spreadsheets. This includes entering comprehensive data into internal tracking systems, ensuring the highest level of accuracy for all records.
Data Analysis & Optimization: Conduct thorough reviews of waste data to identify significant trends and pinpoint opportunities for operational improvements. This analysis directly informs efforts to focus on and implement sustainability enhancements derived from data insights.
Supplier Engagement & Sourcing: Take responsibility for reviewing supplier invoices for accuracy and engaging in negotiations as needed. Proactively identify new potential suppliers, explore advanced technologies, and discover sustainable opportunities that align with Veolia’s goals.
Client Relations & Contract Adherence: Maintain a professional image while interacting with clients, addressing their inquiries, and proposing effective solutions to both existing and potential problems. Additionally, demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of contract terms, ensuring diligent follow-through on all assigned obligations.
Operational Learning & Safety: Develop or enhance a basic understanding of various waste services, including hazardous, nonhazardous, recycling, and universal waste. This also encompasses learning about treatment technologies, transportation options, associated equipment, and market dynamics, all while operating in a safe manner to ensure optimum efficiency and timely project completion.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level position focused on data management and environmental services. Candidates with a college degree (recent or in process) in Data Management, Sustainability, Computer Sciences, or Environmental fields are preferred.
• Experience: 6 months to 1 year of industry-related work and customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Proficient computer skills and data analysis abilities are essential for this role.
• Bonus: An existing or developing understanding of waste services (hazardous, nonhazardous, recycling, universal, etc.), treatment technologies, transportation options, and market dynamics is beneficial.
