What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Estimating: Assist Project Managers in describing detailed project proposals and assigning accurate dollar values to the construction projects.
• Scheduling Coordination: Help create and manage comprehensive working timelines for subcontractors and various trades to ensure project completion on time.
• Subcontractor Buyout: Support the full buyout process by sending bid instructions, evaluating proposals from subcontractors, and awarding subcontracts.
• Permitting Process: Aid in filling out, submitting, and tracking all necessary permit forms, drawings, and fees to city, county, and fire departments for approval.
• Site Progress Monitoring: Visit job sites with Project Managers to observe operations firsthand and ensure the construction project is running smoothly.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, or Construction Management Bachelor’s degree program.
• Experience: No specific years required, but previous internship or co-op experience within the construction industry is preferred.
• Skills: Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with a strong work ethic. A minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0 is also necessary.
• Bonus: Prior experience in a construction-related internship or co-op program.
