Multifamily-Development Analyst | D.R. Horton

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at D.R. Horton, Inc., located in Kirkland, WA. D.R. Horton is the largest homebuilder in the U.S., a Fortune 500 company publicly traded on the NYSE, specializing in entry-level and first-time move-up homes, with subsidiaries for mortgage and title services. DHI Communities is the multifamily development division of D.R. Horton, and this role is central to the acquisition, development, and asset management of multifamily investments.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate Opportunities: Collaborate with and support the development team in evaluating new multifamily development opportunities and asset management of existing properties.
• Financial Modeling: Prepare proformas and financial projections for potential development projects, including underwriting rents, operational expenses, and project costs.
• Acquisition Support: Assist in gathering due diligence reports and provide support for acquisition, financing, and disposition processes for new multifamily developments.
• Performance Analysis: Analyze and monitor the financial performance of properties, including financial modeling, benchmarking to budget, and executing business plans with management.
• Market Analysis: Analyze the overall market and monitor industry trends to inform development and acquisition decisions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in commercial real estate, private equity, or investment banking.
• Skills: Advanced Excel financial modeling (ability to create original models with limited guidance), excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly organized with the ability to balance competing priorities under pressure, goal-oriented self-starter who takes initiative.
• Bonus: Experience in retail underwriting and/or asset management; experience with a Big 4 accountancy firm.
