The Tone:
This is a part-time temporary internship at The State University of New York, located in Albany, NY. This role directly supports the administration and ongoing development of the Slate by Technolutions CRM platform, which is critical for SUNY System Administration’s operations. The position offers an ideal opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience with a leading higher education technology platform and contribute to enterprise-level data and communication operations. This role is essential for maintaining data accuracy, ensuring effective communication workflows, and optimizing system functionality.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Database Management: Assist with the daily maintenance and ongoing support of the Slate by Technolutions CRM database, ensuring its operational functionality for SUNY System Administration.
• Data Integrity & Validation: Review, update, and meticulously organize records within Slate to ensure comprehensive data accuracy and integrity across the platform, including supporting the validation of incoming data.
• System Development & QA: Support the creation, configuration, and thorough testing of new forms, queries, sophisticated reports, and critical communication campaigns, while also conducting comprehensive quality assurance testing for new workflows, user portals, and outgoing communications.
• Documentation & User Support: Contribute to the development and maintenance of essential business processes, procedural documentation, and training materials, and respond to basic user support requests and troubleshoot minor issues under direct supervision.
• Project & Data Security: Support various special projects related to admissions, recruitment, communications, and overall CRM optimization, and rigorously maintain the confidentiality and security of all student and institutional data.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student. A current undergraduate or graduate student actively enrolled at a State University of New York (SUNY) institution.
• Experience: An interest in higher education administration, data systems, communications, or information technology, demonstrating comfort with technology platforms, databases, and spreadsheets.
• Skills: Practical proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data handling, familiarity with CRM or database platforms, basic understanding of HTML/CSS for web content, and experience with data analysis or reporting tools.
• Bonus: Possesses strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, demonstrates strong written and verbal communication abilities, is capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently and meeting deadlines, and ideally has prior experience with Slate by Technolutions.
