Summer Engineering Intern | Elevate
The Tone:
This is a Summer Internship at Elevate, located in Chicago, IL and currently hybrid remote. Elevate is a nonprofit organization that designs and implements programs focused on reducing costs, protecting people and the environment, and ensuring clean, efficient energy reaches those most in need. This role supports experienced engineers and various program teams, assisting in efforts to improve building performance, advance energy efficiency, and provide sustainability consulting, all contributing to Elevate’s mission of a just and equitable world. The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to the Manager, Engineering
• Mission: Supports Elevate’s programs by assisting experienced engineers and various program teams with technical and administrative tasks.
• Tech Stack: Salesforce, MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
What You’ll Actually Do
• Documentation: Document project data in Salesforce customer relations management (CRM) and perform general program administrative tasks.
• Quality Assurance: Review and perform quality assurance checks on various documents and reports for accuracy.
• Process Improvement: Collaborate with staff to improve the design and delivery processes for energy programs.
• Data Analysis: Perform analysis of energy data to support program and project objectives.
• On-Site Assistance: Shadow and assist experienced engineers during on-site energy assessments, both before, during, and after visits.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, with foundational knowledge in problem-solving approaches and basic engineering theory.
• Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and the ability to perform calculations in Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective communication across all management levels, coupled with strong research abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Bonus: Possession of a valid driver’s license and personal motorized vehicle transportation is preferred but not required for this role.
