Internship, People Analytics (Summer 2026) | Tesla

The Tone:
This is an internship at Tesla, located onsite. Tesla is a company dedicated to accelerating the world’s transition to sustainable energy by designing, manufacturing, and selling electric vehicles, battery energy storage, solar panels, and related products and services. This role is critical in supporting the People Analytics team, which is responsible for leveraging data to optimize the entire employee lifecycle. The intern’s contributions will directly inform strategic decisions across key areas like recruiting, performance management, compensation, and talent mobility, ultimately ensuring Tesla continues to attract, develop, and retain top talent globally.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Collaborate: Translate ambiguous recruiting and people-related questions into clear analytical objectives, reports, and actionable insights with stakeholders.
• Design: Build and maintain data models, dashboards, and visualizations to ensure data quality, consistency, and usability for internal customers.
• Write: Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret data from multiple systems using SQL queries to support analytical projects.
• Identify: Pinpoint trends, patterns, and gaps in upstream data or systems and partner with the team to drive improvements in data quality and accessibility.
• Communicate: Present findings clearly to non-technical audiences and contribute to documentation, testing, and tool development, supporting the creation of real-time feedback systems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, demonstrating a curious mindset and analytical rigor.
• Experience: Available for a 12+ week period over the summer and able to work onsite full-time. Demonstrated experience with relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.). Proven experience with Python and analytical libraries.
• Skills: Solid understanding of fundamental data analysis concepts, applying a first-principles approach to problem-solving. Proficiency in SQL for data collection, cleaning, analysis, and interpretation. Ability to design and build data models, dashboards, and visualizations. Strong communication skills to convey findings to non-technical audiences.
