Summer Intern | Alpine Polytech
The Tone:
This is a summer internship at Alpine Polytech, located in Fort Worth, TX. Alpine Polytech operates as an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory, dedicated to materials testing and consulting, primarily serving the upstream Oil & Gas and downstream Chemical Processing & Refining markets. The company excels in designing and executing comprehensive testing programs that either meet or exceed industry standards, and also develops customized test regimens to accurately simulate real-world applications across various fluids and challenging environments, including H2S, CO2, and HPHT conditions over extended time periods. By evaluating polymer performance and collaborating closely with customers, Alpine Polytech recommends suitable materials, supports tool design, and provides guidance on commercially viable products throughout the full production lifecycle, all while delivering highly accurate, repeatable in-house test data aligned with current ISO, ASTM, and API standards. This internship offers a motivated student or recent graduate a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience by applying artificial intelligence, data tools, and IT knowledge to support and advance the company’s technology and AI-related initiatives in a professional setting.

What You’ll Actually Do
• IT Project Support: Assist Alpine employees in the execution and successful completion of various IT-related projects, ensuring systems and tools support the laboratory’s operational needs and industry standards.
• Data Management Contribution: Support the organization, maintenance, and integrity of critical laboratory data, including test results and material performance information, aligning with ISO, ASTM, and API standards for accuracy and repeatability.
• AI-Enabled Process Improvement: Contribute to initiatives focused on applying artificial intelligence to enhance and optimize internal processes, potentially including data analysis workflows or material evaluation methodologies.
• General IT Support: Provide practical, day-to-day IT assistance to Alpine employees, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operation of technology infrastructure crucial for laboratory functions.
• Technology Initiative Participation: Actively participate in broader technology and AI-related initiatives, applying theoretical knowledge and practical skills to further the company’s innovation goals and improve efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Student or recent graduate.
• Experience: Practical hands-on experience applying artificial intelligence, data tools, and IT knowledge in a professional environment.
• Skills: Academic background or practical experience in Artificial Intelligence; proficiency in Information Technology principles; understanding of Computer Science fundamentals; competence in Data Analytics concepts.
