The Tone:
This is a paid internship at ByteDance, supporting global payment solutions for Latin America. ByteDance, an organization whose mission is to inspire creativity and enrich life, builds a suite of products including TikTok, Lemon8, CapCut, and Pico. This role is within the Global Payment team, which provides comprehensive payment solutions from acquisition to reconciliation, ensuring a smooth and secure payment experience for users. Specifically, this intern will contribute to the Payment Network team’s efforts to ensure secure, professional, and efficient overseas payment solutions, helping businesses unblock payment channels and effectively assisting overseas business and product expansion.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Payment Strategy Development: Support regional strategy leads in developing comprehensive and forward-thinking payment strategies aligned with overall business objectives and growth goals.
• Market Research & Analysis: Analyze industry trends and gather market and sector insights to stay updated on developments in the ecommerce and payments industry, market changes, and emerging technologies.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with key stakeholders to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration on payment initiatives.
• Project Management: Support the successful execution of payment-related initiatives, ensuring timely project delivery.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA), with a background in business administration, finance, or related fields preferred. This role is for a student seeking real-world professional experience.
• Experience: An understanding of payment industry trends and emerging technologies is required. Prior internship experience in investment, consulting, accounting, or finance is a plus. Project management experience, with a focus on delivering results in a challenging work environment, is essential. The ability to adapt to cross-timezone collaboration is also necessary.
• Skills: Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency, are critical. Experience in strategic research, data modeling, and business valuation is expected. Candidates must possess an analytical mindset, capable of translating data into actionable insights and strategies, and be proficient in interpreting financial statements.
• Bonus: Experience in market research is considered a plus.
