Safety Intern | Clune Construction Company

This is an entry-level internship role primarily based on active construction sites, with occasional exposure to office settings. What You’ll Actually Do
• Conduct Safety Inspections: Assist with thorough on-site safety inspections to proactively identify and document potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
• Manage Safety Documentation: Support the comprehensive preparation and organization of all safety documentation, including critical training materials, incident reports, and compliance records.
• Monitor Compliance: Help monitor strict adherence to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and enforce site-specific safety rules across active job sites.
• Support Training Initiatives: Coordinate and facilitate site-specific safety orientations and training sessions, also assisting in the preparation of all necessary educational materials.
• Facilitate Safety Communication: Encourage and foster open communication regarding safety concerns and actively promote near-miss reporting to enhance overall site safety.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or associate degree program in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field, with a basic understanding of construction practices and safety principles.
• Experience: No prior professional experience required.
• Skills: Eagerness to learn and apply safety principles, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to follow instructions and take initiative.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to construction safety through coursework or projects is a plus.
