Service Desk Associate (Intern) | Mitsubishi Power Americas

The Tone:
This is an internship at Mitsubishi Power Americas, located in-person. This role is crucial as it provides essential first-level technical support to end users, allowing the intern to gain valuable hands-on experience in day-to-day IT operations. The Service Desk Associate supports the core IT infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations and contributing to a future where net zero is a reality.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide first-level IT assistance for hardware, software, and fundamental system issues.
• Deployment: Set up, configure, reimage, and deploy laptops and other essential IT equipment.
• Management: Log, track, and update support requests using the designated service desk ticketing system.
• Onboarding: Assist new hires with their IT onboarding process and provide basic system training.
• Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to enhance and modernize IT processes, including developing basic automation for increased efficiency.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student currently enrolled in a college or university program in a technology-related field with an anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later.
• Experience: Novice knowledge of Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio, and Project.
• Skills: Ability to make sound judgment decisions based on technical specifications, basic mathematical skills for job-related calculations, and clear, professional communication with users.
• Bonus: Exposure to infrastructure, networking, and cloud environments like Azure, or familiarity with tools such as Tanium, Endpoint Manager, SAP, Dynamics CRM, Windchill, SharePoint SPO, or project management software.
