About the Role
This unique 6-week internship, offered by the International Health Alliance, is designed to cultivate a deep-seated passion for healthcare and humanitarian service. Interns will contribute to the mission of making healthcare an accessible right for everyone, particularly in impoverished areas globally, by providing critical medical care to those in dire need. The program offers a blend of remote training and hands-on international experience, fostering both personal and professional growth.

What You’ll Do
• Dive into a structured curriculum through 2-hour live and recorded online sessions each week.
• Receive personalized guidance from a dedicated doctor during the remote learning experience.
• Participate in training on vitals upon arrival in the Dominican Republic.
• Spend four days participating in mobile clinics in impoverished communities, applying training to address unmet medical needs.
• Help dozens, possibly hundreds, of people get desperately needed medical care.
• Visit a local hospital to gain insights into medical differences and practices.
• Shadow some of the top doctors in the Dominican Republic.
• Explore and experience the Dominican Republic during a free day, guided by a travel agent.
• Choose from a variety of added electives during your internship, such as suturing or cultural dance classes.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Have the ability to travel out of the United States (Passport or Visa).
• Have the ability to work in a team setting.
• Are 18 years or older.
• Can pass a criminal background check.
