Job Description

About the Role
Darioo LLC is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Summer Engineering Intern to join its engineering team. This hybrid role, ideal for junior, senior, or near-graduation engineering students, offers a flexible summer schedule and an opportunity to gain real-world experience in product development, prototyping, and electromechanical systems. You will work directly with the engineering team on a real-world hardware development project, handling the design, build, and validation of automated mechanical and electromechanical systems.

What You’ll Do
• Contribute to the development of a proof-of-concept automated electromechanical system
• Design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD (SolidWorks or similar)
• Generate detailed engineering drawings and iterate on conceptual designs
• Build, assemble, and test physical prototypes
• Support integration of electromechanical systems, including wiring and basic circuits
• Assist with motion control systems and sequencing logic
• Participate in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with senior engineers in design reviews and project meetings
• Work with mechanical handling and object transfer systems
• Work with linear motion systems (rails, tracks, guided mechanisms)
• Work with motor-driven actuation systems (controlled forward/reverse movement)
• Work with sensor-based triggering and automation
• Work with embedded control systems (Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar)
• Work with power distribution and prototype-level electrical systems
• Work with modular structures using mixed materials (3D printing, aluminum, wood, sheet metal)
• Rapid prototyping and design iteration
• Conduct testing, validation, and troubleshooting
• Ensure manufacturability of parts and assemblies
• Document designs, revisions, and technical findings

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• Are a Junior, Senior, or near graduation
• Have hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, or engineering projects
• Are familiar with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
• Have a basic understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
• Have strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Have clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts
• Have an eagerness to learn and tackle real-world engineering challenges

Bonus Qualifications
• Experience with Arduino or embedded systems

Role Highlights & Compensation
• Real-world experience working on active engineering and product development projects
• Exposure to the full product lifecycle: design → prototyping → manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with motion systems, sensors, and control logic
• Mentorship from experienced engineers
• Opportunity to build a strong professional portfolio
• Experience working on innovative, real-world systems
• Potential for full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship
• Hybrid role (~80% remote / ~20% on-site)
• Flexible summer schedule
• Full-Time or Part-Time availability
• Estimated hourly rate of $15 to $20, dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills
