About the Role
This Software Analyst / Developer, Emerging Talent Intern position is with the NYCT – Buses – Fleet Technologies Group. The role focuses on enhancing and supporting several key enterprise applications, including Bus Time, Bus Trek, Yard, Trek, and Transit Signal Priority, which require ongoing updates, maintenance, and feature development, with plans to introduce new projects. The intern will primarily contribute to developing, upgrading, analyzing, or maintaining aspects of one or more of these applications.
What You’ll Do
• Collaborate on designing new features, reports, or analytical tools for our applications.
• Write, test, demonstrate and deploy code for new features or fixes.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs or edge-case issues in existing codebases.
• Draft or update documentation for features, fixes, and workflows.
• Assist in configuring and maintaining server environments, applications, or containers on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Perform ad hoc data collection or develop automated tools to extract data from existing systems.
• Analyze collected data to identify performance trends and provide operational insights.
• Present findings and propose actionable recommendations.
• Conduct operations analyses to support process improvements and quality control.
• Develop both ad hoc and automated reporting solutions.
• Prototype software tools.
• Aggregate or analyze data.
• Occasionally prepare presentations or assist with targeted research tasks.
You’re a Good Fit If You
• Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.
• Are able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Have a keen eye for detail and are able to work independently while being an active team player.
• Are matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA.
• Are authorized to work in the United States at the time of application.
Bonus Qualifications
• Major in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Hourly Rate: $21.00 (Graduate)

• This is an onsite internship requiring regular, in-person attendance at the designated work location.
