Job Description

About the Role: Admissions Coordinator

Success in this pivotal role hinges on your ability to rapidly establish trust with parents, often within moments of a conversation beginning. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proactive approach to outreach, unwavering reliability in follow-up, and the confidence to articulate an innovative alternative learning model without reliance on scripted language. If you thrive on phone-based communication, are comfortable with measurable performance indicators, and possess a strong sense of ownership over student enrollment outcomes, this position offers a direct and significant impact.

As an Admissions Coordinator, your core responsibility is to serve as the first substantive connection for families exploring Unbound Academy’s unique educational path. You will be instrumental in transforming initial family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete enrollment.

About Unbound Academy

Unbound Academy is Arizona’s first virtual, tuition-free charter school, dedicated to making grades 4-8 limitless, personal, and exciting. We offer a revolutionary way for families to reclaim time, unlock potential, and reimagine what education can be. Our innovative model allows students to master core academics in just two hours a day, utilizing an AI-powered learning platform that adjusts to each child’s pace and interests, facilitating progress twice as fast as traditional classrooms. By streamlining coursework and cutting out the “fluff,” we not only achieve significant academic impact but also make learning fun, personal, and incredibly effective.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound leads by phone within a 24-hour window to initiate admissions discussions.
  • Describing Unbound Academy’s virtual learning structure and enrollment procedures using clear, accessible language, inspiring confidence in our innovative model.
  • Maintaining consistent, proactive follow-up to advance families through every stage, from initial inquiry to application submission and successful enrollment.
  • Recording all interactions diligently in a CRM system, including detailed notes, clearly defined next steps, and updated pipeline status.
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment events in Texas or Arizona to introduce Unbound Academy to prospective families and generate new leads.
  • During quieter enrollment periods, you will support broader school operations, ensuring you remain prepared for upcoming intake cycles.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Allowing inbound leads to remain uncontacted while focusing on administrative tasks; prompt engagement is key.
  • Relying on rigid scripts or functioning within a high-volume call center environment; genuine, personalized communication is paramount.
  • Attending events in a passive capacity without actively presenting, engaging, or generating new leads.
  • Devoting the majority of your time to back-office tasks when enrollment activity is high; your focus will be on front-line engagement.

Basic Requirements

  • Located in Arizona and available to work in a hybrid capacity (combining remote and in-person activities).
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or a similar customer-facing position, demonstrating a proven track record of positive interactions.
  • A background working with children or families, gained through roles in schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or comparable settings.
  • Comfortable initiating frequent phone calls and adept at guiding families through multi-step procedures with patience and clarity.
  • Strong verbal communication abilities, with the innate capacity to establish trust and rapport rapidly.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms or other digital tools for tracking leads and managing customer interactions.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Previous experience in admissions, enrollment, inside sales, or lead qualification functions.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing or presenting at community events or outreach initiatives.
  • Academic coursework or a professional background in communications, education, or a related discipline.
