Yard Technician | EquipmentShare
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at EquipmentShare, located in Grand Rapids, MI. EquipmentShare is dedicated to transforming the construction industry by empowering contractors and communities with advanced technology and real-time support, aiming to build a safer, more secure, and more productive future. As a Yard Technician, you will be instrumental in maintaining the rental facility’s storage yard, ensuring all equipment is in top condition and operations run smoothly. This role supports our people-first approach, where technology enhances daily tasks and team members contribute to building something special.
The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM), with overtime and on-call scheduling
• Location: Grand Rapids, MI (On-site)
• Mission: To keep the rental facility’s storage yard in optimal condition by assisting with equipment maintenance and daily operational tasks.
• Tech Stack: T3 platform
What You’ll Actually Do
• Equipment Condition Management: Inspect and accurately report on equipment condition both before and after usage, and assist with routine inspections, repairs, maintenance, and comprehensive cleaning.
• Inventory & Documentation: Document all incoming and outgoing equipment movements, and maintain equipment inventory systems according to standard operating procedures.
• Customer Equipment Support: Demonstrate the proper use of equipment, and safely load and unload items for customers.
• Yard & Shop Upkeep: Serve as responsible for general yard and shop cleanup in accordance with company standards, ensuring a tidy and organized workspace.
• Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe and hazard-free workplace, consistently adhering to company safety guidelines and promoting a culture of safety.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or equivalent; capacity for general yard operations and understanding of equipment handling and maintenance tasks.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience or years of service are explicitly required for this role, providing an opportunity for growth.
• Skills:
• Possess a valid driver’s license, essential for operating company vehicles and equipment within the yard.
• Proficiency in comprehensive equipment management, including inspecting, documenting, and assisting with maintenance and thorough cleaning tasks.
• Ability to safely handle equipment, which involves loading, unloading, and demonstrating proper operation while ensuring a hazard-free work environment.
• Capable of occasional lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in various temperatures, while consistently utilizing required personal protective equipment.
