What We’re Looking For

The Environmental Technician Intern will play a supportive role in a variety of environmental and industrial hygiene projects. This position offers a dynamic learning environment with significant field exposure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with comprehensive asbestos, lead-based paint, and mold surveys.
  • Support abatement monitoring activities and conduct clearance sampling.
  • Contribute to Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs).
  • Aid in Phase II subsurface investigations and remedial site activities.
  • Support field data collection efforts.
  • Assist with ecological sampling and assessments.
  • Participate in the installation of environmental monitoring equipment.
  • Assist with GIS-based field mapping using Trimble units.
  • Document field activities and site conditions thoroughly.
  • Aid in equipment setup and calibration.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week. The schedule may vary based on project workload and demands. This role involves significant travel (up to 50%) and may require occasional off-shift or overtime work.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Enrollment: Actively pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or another science-related field.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated good oral and written communication abilities.
  • Driving: Valid driver’s license and a reliable driving record are essential.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and make sound discriminations.
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally.
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (both hot and cold).
  • Ability to climb occasionally.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Certifications: HAZWOPER 40-hour OSHA certification.
  • Certifications: AHERA Inspector certification.

The team offers a comprehensive suite of capabilities to the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry, both in laboratory settings and on project sites.
