The Tone:
This is a full-time, night position at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, located in Vancouver, Washington. PeaceHealth is seeking new graduate nurses to join their MedSurg Nurse Residency Program, designed to foster technical expertise, compassionate care, and professional growth. The TL;DR

• Pay: $56.92–$86.09 hourly
• Mission: Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
• Documentation: Document patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
• Team Leadership: Direct and delegate care to other team members based on their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
• Professional Development: Ensure own professional effectiveness through ongoing education and professional growth.
• Policy Adherence: Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures, and quality improvement programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Recent RN graduate (within 12 months) or an RN licensed less than 12 months with fewer than 6 months of Acute Care experience, having graduated from an Accredited School of Nursing.
• Experience: Active Washington RN license and American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the date of hire; ability to participate in all program activities throughout the 12-month residency period; and capable of working a minimum of 36 hours per week with variable shifts and shift lengths, rotating per union standards.
• Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet patient needs; proven ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family-centered work environment; basic computer skills.
• Bonus: Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree is preferred, or three years of acute care nursing experience.
